David started his ministry at First Baptist in December 2003.  A native of El Paso, Texas Dr. Kolb received a B.A. in psychology and a B.B.A. in accounting from Baylor University, a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, and a PhD. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a major in Church History and studies in Christian Missions and World Religions. He has had twenty-six years pastoral and ministerial experience while serving churches in California, Kentucky, Missouri, and North Carolina.

Dr. Kolb's special skills and interests include twenty-three years experience in working with computer applications for churches and nonprofit organizations. His hobbies include golf, camping, cycling, music, computer applications, and motorcycling.

It is a great pleasure to welcome Shannon Stewart Hall to the staff of FBCG as Director of Family Ministries and Worship, which means she will be both an education minister and the minister of music. Her Baptist roots began in Catawba county where she was born to a Baptist deacon choir member and a church organist. Music was part of her DNA and would always influence her direction in life.

Shannon received a BA in English and a minor in music from Converse College in SC where she met David Hall. They married and went on to the Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, where she received a master’s degree in Christian Education and he received a master of divinity degree. Shannon also received another master’s degree from the University of New Orleans and David received a master’s in public health from Tulane.

Shannon has served in several churches in the music ministry and in working with youth and families. David is now working for the state of North Carolina in public health. They have three children: Jonathan, 12, Chloe, 8, and Caroline, 2 years old. They live in Mebane. Be sure to give them a great big welcome!

Allie and her husband Milton are members of our church and become active in all phases of our fellowship together. We appreciate the interest Allie has taken in all phases of our music ministry as well as with the larger mission and ministry of the church.

Allie is providing accompaniment for our Chancel Choir during rehearsals on Wednesdays and for our 11:00 AM Sunday worship service. In addition she is accompanying our Seasoned Singers choir during their Wednesday morning rehearsals and their performances. Recently we have also seen the formation of a number of ensembles and quartets. Allie has been a very effective and willing accompanist for each of these groups.
