David started his ministry at First Baptist in December 2003.  A native of El Paso, Texas Dr. Kolb received a B.A. in psychology and a B.B.A. in accounting from Baylor University, a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, and a PhD. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a major in Church History and studies in Christian Missions and World Religions. He has had twenty-six years pastoral and ministerial experience while serving churches in California, Kentucky, Missouri, and North Carolina.

Dr. Kolb's special skills and interests include twenty-three years experience in working with computer applications for churches and nonprofit organizations. His hobbies include golf, camping, cycling, music, computer applications, and motorcycling.

Howard Wright and his wife Jane have been members of our church since 2006 and we have grown to love and appreciate them. Howard will be serving as our Interim Minister of Music.  Howard’s career was in sales for a Christian supply company and has traveled to every major city in the United States. In addition to this Howard is a seminary trained musician who comes to us with a lifetime of experience serving churches in the music area on both a bi-vocational and interim basis. His wife, Jane, is an accomplished pianist and organist and a tremendous asset. We are truly blessed to have such talented and dedicated people in our church.

Allie Covington is now officially our church accompanist after serving for a time on a supply basis. Allie and her husband Milton have joined our church and become active in all phases of our fellowship together. We appreciate the interest Allie has taken in all phases of our music ministry as well as with the larger mission and ministry of the church.

Allie is providing accompaniment for our Chancel Choir during rehearsals on Wednesdays and for our 11:00 AM Sunday worship service. In addition she is accompanying our Seasoned Singers choir during their Wednesday morning rehearsals and their performances. During the last year we have also seen the formation of a number of ensembles and quartets. Allie has been a very effective and willing accompanist for each of these groups. During the interim period Allie will also be directing the handbell choir. Allie also serves double duty sometimes and helps with the music during our “Connect” service at 9:30 AM.
